Lindenmeyr Munroe Expands into Florida Market

Lindenmeyr Munroe, a leader in the distribution of paper, packaging, wide format, and JanSan products is expanding its reach into Florida with a fully stocked distribution center opening in Tampa on March 31. The new facility will serve commercial printers and businesses across the state.

The move is exciting for Florida’s thriving print and graphic arts communities, many who work with the region’s well-established hospitality, food & beverage, travel & tourism, and health care sectors. The new warehouse facility will serve all of Florida, including Jacksonville, Naples, and Southeast Florida markets.

Additional inventory from Lindenmeyr Munroe warehouses outside of Florida will be accessed through a nightly shuttle system that will ensure timely delivery on all orders and provides access to leading brands.

Meet Vanessa Galeano, a rising star within the Florida Graphics Alliance (FGA), whose journey from a student at Valencia College to Creative Director is nothing short of inspiring.

Vanessa’s talent did not go unnoticed. The President of the Florida Graphics Alliance, recognizing her potential, reached out to her with a unique opportunity. At the time, Vanessa was completing her final semester in Graphics & Interactive Design at Valencia College. Shortly after graduating, she joined the FGA team, where her creative expertise quickly made an impact.

Gabriel Hernandez, President of FGA said, “In my over 25 years of leading Graphic Arts professionals it is rare to find someone which such talent at such a young age. Vanessa possesses the skills and attitude of a Senior Design Specialist that could easily lead a team or run an agency serving Fortune 500 companies.”

Today, as the Creative Director at FGA, Vanessa is responsible for all of the organization's creative outputs, including print materials, digital content, the website, and social media. (Nov 7, 2023) - Presstige Printing was named Florida's Best Printer by the Florida Graphics Alliance at the 2023 Florida Print Awards, taking home the coveted Golden Flamingo Trophy for the first time in company history. Presstige Printing also won the most first place awards at the event, which convenes annually to recognize excellence in printed material within the state of Florida.

About the Family Business: The company Rock grew, bought and sold in his 20s and 30s was the Vomela Specialty Company, which has grown through mergers and acquisitions into The Vomela Companies, a nationwide network of 20 wide-format graphics production facilities that serve many of the top brands and retailers in the U.S.

Rock’s father Carlo worked as a letterpress operator in Vomela’s early days when the company specialized in producing Christmas seals and tags. Carlo printed and die-cut the tags and labels and applied the embellishments, using a special glitter and flock crafting process.

After Carlo was promoted from pressman to plant manager and cut a deal for a 20% stake in Vomela, 3M tapped into the label-converting processes Carlo and his team had developed at Vomela. 3M wanted to test innovative ways to convert adhesive-backed vinyl into new types of products for vehicle decoration, traffic signs, and more.

Shortly after Carlo acquired full ownership, he decided to step back from day-to-day operations and allow Rock to run the business as CEO. At the same time, 3M announced a 3-year plan to to take more R&D work in-house and automate manual converting processes, This meant Vomela lost millions of dollars of revenue they had been earning as an innovation incubator for 3M.

As Vomela CEO, Rock had to lay off most of the 150 people on staff and recruit future-focused technical experts. He succeeded in rebuilding the business with a broader base of customers with shorter run jobs. To accomplish this, Vomela invested in first-generation computer-aided drawing (CAD) systems and large-format computer-driven cutting devices that 3M didn’t yet possess.

This enabled Vomela to become a beta site for converting digitally printed vinyl graphics into new types of computer-cut products, including vehicle decals and fleet markings. In the 1990s, Hundreds of other small-business owners followed Vomela’s lead to use digital printers and cutters for quick-turnaround production of smaller orders for local businesses.

Family-owned Bonita Springs-based Presstige Printing wins 38 awards from Florida Graphics Alliance

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla., January 20,2022 – Presstige Printing, Florida’s premier commercial print and direct mail provider, was recognized as one of Florida’s top print and design companies at a Florida Print Awards ceremony at their facility in Bonita Springs. Gabe Hernandez from Florida Graphics Alliance was on-hand to present thirty-eight awards to the team at Presstige Printing, including two Florida’s Best awards.

Hernandez said winning top awards in both digital and process printing is a testament to the quality work Presstige Printing has become known for around the state. "Presstige Printing does superb work," Hernandez said. "The judges and I were so impressed."

In addition to the Florida’s Best Process Color Printing and Florida’s Best Digital Printing trophies, Presstige Printing was awarded fourteen Best of Category awards, eleven Awards of Excellence and eleven Judges Awards.
