PRESS RELEASE: JKG Group Offers Additional Product Packaging Capabilities

JKG Group Offers Additional Product Packaging Capabilities

Versatile Sachet Packs and Samples Packets Now Available

Deerfield Beach, Fla., Sept. 21, 2018 – JKG Group today announced the addition of new, high-demand product packaging capabilities at its manufacturing plant in Deerfield Beach, which serves businesses throughout Florida, the Southeast, and Latin America. The company has added new equipment for pouch packs, including sachet and sample packets for creams, serums, tablets, capsules and powders.

“We’re dedicated to reinvesting in our business and expanding our services to meet demand,” said Adam Gittlin, president of JKG Group. “This investment dramatically extends our product packaging capabilities, enabling our clients to enjoy the competitive advantages of single-source packaging services under one roof.”

Versatile sachet packaging accommodates creams, serums, tablets, capsules and powders, and provides four-sided sealing, hole punch, perforation, lot and date code printing and other important functionality.

Many product formulators and manufacturers are transitioning to smarter packaging. Offering soft-sided pouch packs to replace rigid plastic packaging is increasingly popular, says Gittlin, observing that pouch packs use less packaging material, create less solid waste, require less shelf space, and cost less to ship.

JKG Group provides a full spectrum of product packaging services, from design, dielining and prototyping to printing and fine finishing—as well as warehousing, kitting, fulfillment and shipping services. The company produces custom packaging for cosmetics and beauty products as well as for sports equipment, leather goods, jewelry, apparel, small household appliances, hair care accessories, nutritional supplements and other consumer packaged goods.

JKG Group is a First Place winner in the 2018 Package Printing Excellence Awards and a 2018 Florida Print Awards Gold winner for outstanding booklet and catalog printing. The company ranks among the top ten commercial printers in South Florida, according to the South Florida Business Journal.

SIGNET ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC MERGER WITH HOLDING COMPANIES BINDTECH LLC AND FINISH LINE BINDERIES LLC.

FINISH LINE BINDERIES LLC OF CLEVELAND TO FULLY INTEGRATE WITH AND ADOPT THE BRANDING OF SISTER COMPANY, BINDTECH LLC.

Press release from the issuing company - 08/09/18

Company leadership announced last week a major reorganization which constitutes a full merger with holding companies BindTech LLC of Nashville and Finish Line Binderies LLC, of Cleveland.  Finish Line will be fully integrated with BindTech, the industry-leading book bindery service provider, and adopt the latter company’s branding. The integration of the two companies will improve the customer experience by streamlining fulfillment processes, which will speed up turnaround times and improve logistics.

Chairman of the parent company Signet LLC, Anthony Manna, explains why the timing was right for two companies to come together under his ownership.  “There is tremendous consolidation occurring in the print bindery and fulfillment industry.  This merger will allow for a much stronger position in the market as we leverage the strengths of both plants which come together to form one formidable brand,” says Manna.

With manpower challenges facing the book-binding industry to keep graphic arts manufacturers and service providers stocked with talented workers, co-owner John Helline sees this merger as a major benefit to his workforce - which will in turn benefit the marketplace.  “This merger allows us to more effectively allocate and deploy talent, and to streamline internal resources and processes to recruit and retain skilled talent,” says Helline.

Established in 1937 in Cleveland, OH Finish Line Binderies has been a leader in the book binding industry, specializing in perfect and mechanical bookbinding to exceed client’s expectations, utilizing experienced personnel and state-of-the-art equipment.

BindTech LLC is a premier national book bindery with a vast range of manufacturing capabilities that service major printers and publishers throughout the United States. Growing into one of the largest privately owned trade bindery/book manufacturers in the country, BindTech’s commitment to quality and service has earned a trusted name throughout the graphic arts industry.

Management will now be able to leverage both plants’ strengths, which will present many benefits to their respective client bases.

The Nashville division specializes in hard cover binding (both adhesive and sewn) and mechanical binding (both plastic coil and double wire).

The Cleveland division specializes in mechanical binding (double wire, plastic coil, and spiral wire), kitting and fulfillment.

“This merger allows us to become a solutions provider for our clients by allowing us to address their needs with a holistic approach.  We can allocate resources and execute logistics at a higher level utilizing the resources and benefits of each location,” says Chad Dillon, General Manager of BindTech. Dillon, who worked in management at Finish Line for many years now oversees both divisions from the Nashville location.

“The move allows for integration of logistics which will improve turnaround times and efficiency in bids and workflows. Being able to load-share jobs and produce solutions geographically will help our sales pitch tremendously,” Dillon added.

The merger also eliminates conflicts for the client base with the two binderies in potential competition for market share.

Company leadership also announced the promotion of David Marvin, now Division Manager of the Cleveland plant (formerly Finish Line), and the hiring of Mackenzie Koupal to the position of Division Controller of the Graphic Arts Group.

“I am very excited to be leading our Cleveland plant and look forward to our future collective growth,” says Marvin.  “This merger will create substantial value for our customers through increased capacity as well as a wider range of finishing needs in multiple locations. Each location brings many years of experience and expertise to take on any challenge.  I look forward to building new relationships as well as maintaining the great relationships that have already been established,” says Marvin.

Mackenzie Koupal says that the merger will help streamline the entire operation while bringing the two organizations closer together as one “family”.  “While both companies work cohesively already, the merger will allow simplicity from a customer standpoint and operations. Additionally, this merger will cement the family feel between the two entities and allow for us to streamline accounting and HR processes,” says Koupal.

Company leadership expects the two companies to be fully integrated by the third quarter of 2018.

Dennis started in the Graphic Arts industry in 1973 with Earle and Jones, a promotional packaging company in NYC. He served as their VP of Sales covering the northeast. Collectively, they grew the company into a nationwide organization called The Jones Colad Group with manufacturing facilities in NYC, Buffalo NY, Atlanta GA and Los Angeles, CA.

Over 20+ years BindTech became the largest, privately held book bindery in the country with 300 employees operating out of two facilities totaling of 190,000 sq. feet.

In January 2016, he became the Executive VP and held that position until March of 2017 when Signet Enterprises acquired BindTech. USPS Dedicates Stamp to the PAF

U.S. Postal Service Dedicates Stamp to the Printing Association of Florida

FORT LAUDEDALE, FL – February 24, 2018 – Postmaster David Guiney presented a U.S. Flag Forever stamp to the Printing Association of Florida (PAF) at the Graphics of the Americas 2018 Expo in Fort Lauderdale, FL. PAF president Gabriel Hernandez accepted the award on the GOA Expo Stage Accompanying the two men on the stage was an enlarged copy of the stamp, boldly displaying the U.S. Flag.

During his presentation, Mr. Guiney spoke about the flag’s meaning to him and his family as one of his sons proudly serves in the U.S. Navy.

“Since 1957, the Postal Service has produced colorful stamps that celebrate the American flag in all of its beautiful red, white and blue glory. Through this stamp, the Postal Service reminds us all of the importance of showing our patriotism and pride all year round.”

Mr. Hernandez, the PAF president, proudly excepted the dedication. “We thank the U.S. Postal Service for this honor. The Florida printing industry is full of those who have served, or those who have family members that have served this wonderful country as members of the armed forces. The American flag means so much to them and to all of us at the PAF. This beautiful stamp serves as a reminder of the true heroes that ensure we can enjoy peace and prosperity here at home.”

The oversized copy of the stamp now hangs in the PAF headquarters. It features a digital illustration of a flag with crisp folds and a contemporary look. A shadow on the small, visible portion of the back suggests a sense of depth. Kit Hinrichs, a San Francisco artist, created the image.

The U.S. flag first appeared on a postage stamp in 1869, but it wasn’t until 1957 that stamps began featuring full-color images of the flag.
